I&#039;m not getting the frame dropping in DVDs. I&#039;ve tried a couple. I&#039;m fairly happy with it. MS have said that they plan to add a more fully featured player later, with 720p upscaling, so I guess this player could be considered a beta. Also rather strange is my TV reported that it was playing the movie in 1157i. A format that it doesn&#039;t support. Infact, over component it can do 1080i, 720p, 576p, and 480p. It won&#039;t display any other interlaced format, not that 1157i even exists. Very strange if you as me.</description>
